July is almost to an end but it was quite the birthday month. Many of my friends turned 30 this past month. Here's a memory for you to enjoy from Andrew's Birthday.
Friday after my chriopractor appointment I went to Andrew's house to help him out with some setting up before his party on Saturday. He gave us a list of stuff to do. What I was assigned was cleaning the chairs that were going to be used and the barbecue grill. The chairs went fast since Trevor came to help.
What I was dreading was cleaning the grill. I asked Larnie if she had metal brush and all that good stuff that is needed to clean a grill. She gives it to me and I get into it, brushing the inside grill, getting my hands all dirty and in the end it was nice and clean. Ready to be used.
Party day comes. We head to the back and I see the grill in the corner of the backyard. I asked Andrew if they used the grill for the food.
His answer - No. Ummm...no? He said it was more for show for the backyard. He didn't expect me to clean the inside. Andrew just wanted it wiped down.
Pretty funny, eh? Andrew you owe me!!! (AGAIN!)

You Donate . . . I Run
This year marks a special year for me as I celebrate my 30th birthday in October. I do have many things planned for the upcoming 30th birthday year. As part of my plans I plan on participating in the Las Vegas Marathon in December. However, prior to that I plan on participating in the Start! L.A. County Heart Walk on September 27th.
Everyone knows someone affected by heart disease or stroke. For those I love, I will be participating in this year’s Heart Walk on September 27th. I have set a personal goal of $2000 to raise funds for the American Heart Association and need your help to reach my fundraising goal. We are raising critical dollars for heart disease and stroke research and education.
I would be honored to participate in the Heart Walk and my marathon in honor of anyone you know who has been affected by heart disease and stroke. Make sure you send me a note.
You can help me reach my goal of $2000 by visiting my personal website at http://heartwalkla.kintera.org/lacountyca/lustina08. You can also send a contribution by check - just email me and I can send you my address. Although the event is September my plan is to have my goal reached by August 30th.
You can do the easy part by making a donation while I do the hard part by training and pounding the pavement!
Your donation will help fight our nation’s No. 1 and No. 3 killers—heart disease and stroke. You are making a difference. Thank you for your support.Your donation will help fight our nation’s No. 1 and No. 3 killers—heart disease and stroke. You are making a difference. Thank you for your support.

Erica Saves the Day!
Another Monday. Another chiropractic appointment with Dr. Bunch in Costa Mesa. I do feel much better with all the cracking, twisting and massaging that he does. I don't understand how it works but I do feel much better than a couple weeks ago.
Since I was going to be in Orange County today I figured I might as well have lunch with my friend Erica and also schedule an appointment for a hair cut.
Well today I got done early with my appointment with Dr. Bunch and I was a little hungry. I figured I might as well get a little snack before I met with Erica for lunch. Little did I know I was running out of gas. For those who know my car - the gas gage and the odometer act up. They work when they want to. Every time I bring it to the mechanic it just "magically" works so it's hard to detect. This morning it wasn't working.
As I was driving I notice that my car was slowing down so I pulled into a park and parked. I tried to restart my car but unfortunately it didn't start. The radio would play but it just wouldn't start. Obviously I ran out of gas. ARGH! Luckily, Erica saved the day. I told her what was going on she came picked me up, got gas, and my car started - YAY!!!
I made sure I got a full tank after I left the park and proceeded to Pacific Whey at Crystal Court in South Coast Plaza. Thank goodness I was having lunch with Erica today otherwise I wouldn't know what I'd do.
THANK YOU ERICA FOR SAVING ME TODAY.

Being Nice
From time to time I will write about a random memory - mainly the funny ones.
A long time ago one night after drinking at the bars a couple friends and myself had decided to eat. We had ordered so much food that we had a couple boxes of leftovers. When we left the restaurant and walking back to our cars I saw a homeless person. Since we had so much food and I wanted to be nice so I handed a box of our food to the homeless person.
She opens the box and says "What's in the other boxes?"

Current Jamz I'm Listening To
Here are some of some of the songs that I'm listening to at the moment. Better than listening to spaghetti, right?

No Weight Lifting for 4 Weeks
For those of you don't know I was involved in a car accident two weeks ago. Unfortunately it's going through arbitration and hopefully everything will come out well. If you want to know details email me and I'll let you know what happened.
Anyhow a couple days after the accident I started feeling stiffness in my neck as well as pain in my upper back. I decided to wait until Monday to do anything since I had already scheduled a deep tissue massage at Burke Williams. (It was Andrew's Birthday that day also so I was there with him and Leia). Anyhow I was hoping that the massage would make the pain and stiffness go away.
Well the pain continued. The pain was just being bothersome and since I'm training for a marathon I decided to see a chiropractor who I used to work with when I was the Train to End Stroke Director in Orange County. Thank goodness he agreed to see me to do an exam, x-rays and evaluation for free. Turns out that I am going to have to see him for 4 weeks. Luckily I have nothing broken but the bad thing is I can't do any heavy weight lifting but Dr. Bunch did recommend yoga in the time being on top of exercises he is assigning me.
Looks like I'll be doing yoga. Hopefully I'll have a quick recovery and I'll do better. Below are some of the exercises I have to do. I'll update more on my progress.

Not Sure If I Should Admit This
Recently I have been obsessed with dances that they make up in the Philippines and for some reason I am drawn to one that they call spaghetti. I think it's a little catchy. Here's a vid for you to enjoy. Like I said I probably should not be admitting this.
Let the Blogging Begin
I've tried this blogging thing before but I always forgot about it and never really continued. So let's try it this time. Hopefully I'll check this as often as I do facebook or myspace. I'll be posting up things that happened, stuff that I find entertaining or just random thoughts and rants. Hope all of you enjoy.
